If you’re feeling a getaway from the concrete city, why not spend the day in the lush Mekong Delta? By getting away from tourist crowds, we'll head to Ben Tre, an authentic side of the Mekong, and Can Tho with floating markets.

The Mekong Delta is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of this fascinating way of life for many locals in southern Vietnam with a breath of fresh air, the picturesque countryside, not to mention all the amazing dishes you’ll enjoy, etc…

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM):

Day 1: Departure and Local Experiences

  • 8:00 AM - Pick-up: Free pick-up from accommodations in Districts 1, 3, and 4, Saigon.

Arrival at Ben Tre:

  • Brick Factory Visit: Learn about traditional brick-making at one of the last remaining brick factories in the area.

  • Coconut Experience: Discover the aromatic coconut, a unique Southeast Asian variety, and sample this tropical delight.

  • Sleeping Mat Workshop:  Visit a family-run workshop to see how sleeping mats are made. Enjoy local fruits and tea.

  • Tuk-tuk Ride and Homemade Lunch: Take a tuk-tuk, a common mode of transport in the Mekong Delta, to a peaceful garden setting for a homemade lunch featuring special Mekong fish. After lunch, take a short break.

  • Travel to Can Tho: Continue the journey to Can Tho city.

 

Day 2: Floating Markets and Return to Saigon

  • Early Morning Boat Ride to Cai Rang Floating Market: Explore the largest floating market in the region. Experience the bustling commerce on the river and try local breakfast dishes.

  • Visit Phong Dien Floating Market and Rice Factory: Head to a smaller floating market and see how rice is processed. Enjoy "Bánh Hỏi," a fine rice vermicelli dish often served at engagement ceremonies.

  • Lunch: Enjoy a meal at a local farm stay, sampling traditional Mekong Delta cuisine.

  • Return to Saigon: The journey back includes scenic routes with flexible stops for photos or refreshments. Estimated arrival at your accommodation is between 6:00 - 6:30 PM.

What should I pack for the trip ?

We recommend packing comfortable and lightweight clothing suitable for warm weather, sturdy footwear, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat or sunglasses. We also recommend bringing a camera to capture the stunning landscapes.

The tour involves being on a 2-day tour with different activities. However, the time is designed to be accessible for most people as we will stop along the roads for rest and meals.
